January 01, 2017 — The University of the Southwest in Hobbs was ranked as one of the best online colleges for hospitality management.
College Choice released its 2017 ranking with the school being ranked No. 16.
USW offers online degrees in several areas, including a bachelor’s degree in business administration with an emphasis in hospitality management. The 45-credit hour program emphasizes core business fundamentals and focuses on the practical topics relevant to the hospitality and tourism industries, according to College Choice. The program costs about $18,800.
The University of Massachusetts - Amherst was ranked No. 1, followed by Florida International University.
New Mexico has the nation's second-highest unemployment rate, but one of the job sectors growing in the state is hospitality. In fiscal year 2016, New Mexico added 4,700 new leisure and hospitality jobs, a 5 percent increase.
