Admission requirements

International freshman admission is based on completion of a high school (or equivalent) education.

​

To be considered for admission to USW, you must satisfy the following admission criteria:

​

  • Completion of high school (or equivalent) program (non-U.S. high schools and college transcripts must first be sent to a separate evaluation agency)

  • Demonstrated proficiency of the English language is required for all international applicants whose sole and official language is not English and who have not studied full-time for one uninterrupted academic year at a university-level institution in which English is the language of instruction

  • ​Submit an official bank statement or current financial letter of support (within the last 6 months) showing the ability to finance the estimated cost of attendance for one year

If you are not a U.S. citizen and plan to attend USW on an F-1 student visa to pursue an undergraduate degree, you are in the right spot and are one step closer to officially becoming a Mustang!

Submit your application

Once you've decided what you want to study, it's time to submit your application!

Send in required admissions documents

Applications typically require additional documentation such as transcripts, test scores, English proficiency scores, financial statements, identification documents, etc.

Freshmen and sophomores are required to live on campus. Housing also includes a required meal plan.

Once your application and all required documentation has been received, allow three (3) business days for your application to be processed. Upon receipt and processing, you will be sent an acknowledgement via email by the Director of Undergraduate Enrollment. After admission to the program, you will be issued a Form I-20 (Certificate of Eligibility for Nonimmigrant (F-1) Student Status – For Academic and Language Students). Next steps, additional information, further requests (if applicable), and initial admission decisions will be shared via email.

If you are then offered admission to USW, it's time to start planning for Annual Student Orientation! You will receive details for this via email.

​

Admitted international students should also make arrangements for their International Check-In, which will be scheduled with you via email.
