Position Summary:

The Maintenance Assistant responds to direction of the Director of Physical Plant in the effort of providing for the care, cleanliness, minor repair and maintenance of the institution’s buildings and grounds. This employee strives to advance the University’s mission through the appearance and upkeep of the University’s facilities.

Essential Functions:
  1. Assists on work orders in a timely manner

  2. Assists in special projects related to facilities

  3. Assists in routine work done to campus grounds

Other responsibilities:
  1. Performs other related duties as assigned

  2. Participates in campus activities

Education, experience, & skills required:
  1. Strong work ethic

  2. Positive and respectful attitude

  3. Physically capable of lifting 50 lbs. and walking the necessary distance around campus to perform duties

  4. Demonstrated ability to work independently
